In 2019, the law [1] transposing the NIS directive appointed the Institut Luxembourgeois de Régulation (ILR, https://web.ilr.lu) as the national single point of contact and competent authority for the following sectors:
- Energy
- Transport
- Health
- Drinking water
- Digital infrastructures
- Digital service providers
ILR is also the national regulation authority with the objective to assure a well-functioning of the markets based on an effective and durable competition by assuming the regulation and supervision for the following sectors:
- Electronic communications
- Electricity
- Natural gaz
- Postal services
- Transport (Airport and Railway)
ILR is also in charge of the management and coordination of the frequencies spectra.
